Criminal Justice
Fully-Integrated Policing
In the 21st Century, policing has evolved to become a citizen-centric service which, like any other service provider, relies heavily on the use of enterprise systems to support its key business processes.
In Northern Ireland, in particular, policing has undergone a transformation, to refocus much of its effort on addressing more traditional crime and community policing. This has been combined with a major initiative designed to eradicate the handling of paper from most of the criminal justice processes across policing, public prosecution, courts, and forensic services - with prisons and the probation service to soon follow suit.
Asidua has been involved closely in the automation of policing processes for PSNI and has a deep understanding of the issues involved:
- as part of the initiative to allow electronic information exchange between CJOs, Asidua provided a key element of the architecture which allowed PSNI to be a leader of this initiative
- the architecture deployed to support the Causeway initiative was the first stage of a complete SOA deployment for the PSNI. Asidua has provided the ADI layer underpinning this SOA which has now been used in the automation of many other PSNI core processes
