Asidua takes special Employer of Choice award
14th June 2007
Belfast, Northern Ireland [June 14, 2007]: Asidua Ltd., the leading provider of Application and Data Integration services, with headquarters in Belfast, has received a special award in recognition of a programme to promote a culture and understanding of the importance of employee health. The special award for "Health and Well-Being" went to Asidua at the "Employer of Choice" Gala Awards Evening, held at the Hilton Templepatrick Hotel on June 7, 2007. In addition, at the same event, Asidua was short-listed for the “Innovation” award and received formal accreditation for attaining "Employer of Choice" status earlier this year.
Asidua was one of over 20 Northern Ireland organisations - from across the public, voluntary and private sectors - present at the evening to accept individual "Employer of Choice" awards. Lynda Bryans, the UTV television and U105 radio broadcaster, hosted the event, and keynote speaker Mary Keightley, Director of Mind Associates, addressed guests on the importance of an optimistic outlook in relation to longevity, good health and employability.
Health and Well-Being award
Responding to the company’s success at the awards evening, Angela Canavan, Asidua’s Chief Operations Officer said "Asidua is delighted to receive the Employer of Choice award in this significant category. This special award recognises the emphasis that Asidua places on the importance of employee health - physical and mental - and the benefits of pro-active stress management. Asidua believes in adopting best practices to achieve work-life balance for our staff."
Work-Life Balance Audit
The judges were particularly impressed with Asidua's completion of a follow-up "Work-Life Balance" audit of employees and demonstration of a long-term commitment to their health and well-being. Asidua scored highly with the judges through an ability to embed health and well-being into the organisational culture, using the audit to create performance measures throughout the process. Founded just 5 years ago, Asidua now employs more than 100 staff at its headquarters in central Belfast and at new offices near Birmingham.
About Employer of Choice
The Employer of Choice programme is a positive, inclusive approach in helping companies to achieve a work-life balance in the workplace. Employers are challenged to identify, within their own workplace, how both parties can benefit from a new approach to working practices – one that will enable employees to maintain a better balance between their working and home lives, and at the same time, works within the parameters of the organisation. The Employer of Choice programme was funded through the Department for Employment and Learning and the three special awards are being supported by Invest NI, Action Mental Health and Business in the Community (BitC).
