Asidua CEO profiled for E&Y “Entrepreneur” awards

Belfast, Northern Ireland [September1, 2007]: A television crew recently recorded a "day-in-the-life" of Dr. Steve Brankin, CEO of software consultancy and services company Asidua Ltd. The recording forms part of the publicity surrounding Steve’s nomination as a finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. It will be aired on RTE1 on 7th September.

The first part of the day was filmed on location at Asidua’s Belfast office. The second phase proved to be a bit of a squeeze with Steve, his family and the film crew all aboard Steve’s fishing dinghy off the north coast, after launching from Ballycastle marina. Throughout the day Steve was interviewed about founding Asidua in 2002 and how he has overseen its rapid expansion since.

Being an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist has presented Steve with some exciting networking opportunities. In particular he has just returned from Shanghai where he attended a CEO Retreat in Shanghai with the other award nominees. The intense nine-day programme provided talks from prominent business thinkers and an opportunity for one-to-one meetings with Chinese business leaders and local entrepreneurs.

Commenting on being a finalist in the Entrepreneur Of the Year programme, Dr Brankin expressed his delight: “This is a tremendous honour, not just for me but for the whole team at Asidua. We were confident when we formed the company in 2002 that it would be successful, and through the hard work, effort and commitment of all our staff this goal has been realised.”
