11th October 2005
Belfast, Northern Ireland [October 11, 2005]: Asidua today officially opened its new 1,200 square metre premises at Weavers Court Business Park, Belfast. The official opening ceremony was performed by Bruce Robinson, Permanent Secretary, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment and was attended by leading representatives from industry, commerce and Government departments.
Mr Robinson, commented: "Asidua is a company with talent, knowledge and focus. Northern Ireland needs companies like Asidua where entrepreneurial ability turns innovative ideas into commercially successful products and services. Northern Ireland’s economy will continue to build on recent success by fostering a culture that applauds business success as much as it applauds sports success. The Vision commits government to support the private sector and academia to ensure Northern Ireland competes successfully at the top end of the market by being more enterprising and innovative."
Dr Steve Brankin, Asidua’s chief executive, said he was confident that the company – set up in 2002 and which employs 87 staff – would "continue to make an impact."
Speaking at the ceremony, he added, "The official opening of these new premises represents a major milestone in the development of Asidua. Since the formation of the company in 2002, we have established ourselves as suppliers and partners to companies like Fujitsu, BT and Deloitte. Working with our customers and partners, Asidua projects enhance the lives of people in the UK across a wide variety of aspects – ranging from the use of broadband networks, mobile phones through to Internet job searching and improving efficiency of criminal justice departments."
