Following the recent announcement by National Council for Work Experience, global IT services company Asidua, has been successfully shortlisted for the NCWE Awards once again.
The NCWE Awards, which are now in their eighth year, recognise businesses from all sectors and sizes that provide exceptional student internships across nine categories. More than 200 companies, careers advisors and students entered this year and there were a record number of entries from employers.
Asidua, who have been shortlisted for the second successive year, will be competing in the 10-250 employees category along with fellow finalists Snow Valley, Houlder, learnpurple, Quantum tm and Emerald Group.
“As a recognised Investor in People, Asidua are delighted that our continued commitment to developing young talent has been recognised by the NCWE for the second successive year,” said Asidua Chief Operations Officer, Angela Canavan.
In addition to offering tailored inductions and an on-going competency based Professional Performance Review (PPR) to all employees, the people focused IT solutions provider nurtures fresh talent through further support mechanisms. “Here at Asidua we provide all our employees, of which 10% are placement students, with a challenging, rewarding and exciting working environment.” Angela continued, “To assist their on-going development, each placement student is paired up with an experienced mentor, were feedback is given on an on-going informal basis. We find this not only helps them better prepare for their final year of studies, but also ensures they develop the key skills required for a career in IT.”
Mike Hill, Chief Executive of the Higher Education Careers Services Unit, which operates the NCWE said: “We look for evidence that companies not only put time and effort into helping students develop employability skills, but that they also recognise that employing a student could have significant benefits to their business. Asidua scored highly on all accounts, making them a strong contender in this year’s Awards.”
Asidua will join the other shortlisted finalists at this year’s NCWE Award ceremony in Merchant Taylors’ Hall in London on the 22nd of March, where they will be hoping to get “hired” by The Apprentice finalist & award host, Ruth Badger.
