Steve Brankin, Chief Executive Officer attended and gave a talk to parents of school leavers, focusing on the Engineering and IT opportunities.

The event was aimed at school leavers who are considering studying engineering at Queens. Steve gave a talk from an industry point of view about a career in Engineering in the hope of encouraging more students to study for a career in IT.

Some of the issues addressed in the talk were; to highlight the need for IT graduates in NI, the flexibility of engineers and the type of work they do and the projects they work on, the salary a graduate engineer could expect to earn and the importance and dependence on IT in all sectors. The main aim of all topics was to promote a career in IT and Engineering and for the parents to support and encourage this.
