Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
Asidua were re-engaged by a leading European Tier 1 telecommunications equipment provider specialising in mobile backhaul products to work on the first worldwide WinPath3 based project.
The customer sought to take advantage of Asidua’s globally recognised hardware board bring-up and WDDI/DPS expertise, as well as their extensive experience of the existing product software.
The engagement had two aspects: hardware bring-up and software migration. Hardware bring-up would verify the hardware correctness and that all devices involved in existing product functionality were operating correctly. Asidua were also tasked with bring-up of new WinPath3 interface types. Software migration would require porting the existing product application software to run on the new platform. Following the migration, a demonstration to show that existing ATM and TDM Pseudo Wire (PWE3) functionality operated correctly on the new hardware was required. The migration also involved porting the customer’s proprietary Ethernet processing implementation from the Wintegra HSPI to L2PI DPS microcode.
Client: Virtual Access
The client focuses on the delivery of technology aimed at solving complex problems faced by today’s telecommunications providers. ISPs, virtual network operators, and IP telephony providers, who all need to deploy broadband based services, face the challenge of cost effectively delivering managed networks. The Client engaged Asidua to extend their ‘Service Managed Gateway’ (SMG) to support IEEE 802.1q VLANs in order to be able to segregate ethernet broadcast domains.
Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
A leading Tier 2 client, specialising in the delivering converged multimedia solutions for the mobile, broadband and internet markets, engaged Asidua to provide High Availability enhancements on one of the subsystems within its DTG, namely the Transcoding Engine Module (TEM) card. Their flagship product, the Transcoding Media Gateway (DTG) provides seamless, low latency transport of voice and video traffic across networks.
Client: Xalyo Systems
Xalyo Systems provides Hardware and Software solutions for the Telecommunications market. Their offering includes Mezzanine Cards based around the Wintegra WinPath® NP. Xalyo engaged Asidua to address a scalability issue on the WinPath, arising in one of their customer’s applications utilizing such a card. The application involved Frame Relay to Ethernet interworking and packet classification at Layers 2 & 3.
Client: Virtual Access
Virtual Access, a leading supplier of managed network solutions, has developed an architecture for migration of legacy networks (X25, BiSync, etc) to next-generation network (NGN) topologies. Asidua’s Device Services Division played a key role in the development of the X.25 migration solution. Deploying our Embedded Telecoms Integration offering, Asidua set about drawing up a specification for presenting X.25 interfaces at the customer premises using ADSL as the connection to the central office.
Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
A major manufacturer of telecommunications and networking equipment engaged Asidua to implement support for Message Transfer Part 2 (MTP2) transport and optimisation on the Wintegra WinPath. MTP2 is a protocol in the SS7 protocol suite responsible for the reliable transmission of messages between signalling points. Asidua’s customised WinPath data plane software runs on the customer’s modular routing platform, performing tasks which are too processor-intensive to be performed on the host.
Client: Major Telecoms Device Manufacturer
Asidua was tasked to develop the software for a DSLAM ISDN-BA Line Card which configures and manages 32 subscriber line pairs. The line card contained two Infineon DELIC devices providing a TDM traffic interface to each DELIC via IOM-2 bus providing ISDN on 32 subscriber pairs. Asidua is a strategic partner in the specification, design, implementation and validation of all real-time embedded software for a major telecom vendor’s access technology portfolio. This client is a key supplier in the access domain, providing solutions to link BT’s existing access network to the 21CN core IP-based network. Thanks to the client’s DSL Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), multiple services can be delivered simultaneously, from fast Internet access and video-on-demand, to voice telephony using VoIP.

Client: Major Telecoms Device Manufacturer
Asidua’s client – a major telecoms device manufacturer – was involved in a project with a leading communications solutions provider to migrate the delivery of its broadband services to its next generation network. Part of this project involved the migration of existing ATM networks to Ethernet. Asidua’s involvement with this project concerned upgrading the software on existing linecards (from the old ATM network) to support the transport of “triple play” broadband Ethernet services to the next-generation network. The communications solutions provider required the Ethernet services to be part of its broadband offering.
Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
Asidua’s client – a major telecom device manufacturer – was involved in a project with a leading communications solutions provider to migrate the delivery of its legacy circuit-switched service offerings to its next-generation network. This network would allow for multiple services to be delivered simultaneously, from fast Internet access and video-on-demand, to voice and data telephony using VoIP. The communications solutions provider required for business E1 services to be part of their multi-service offering.

Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
In the fast-paced device market where Asidua’s clients are manufacturers & integrators at the leading edge of the markets they serve. Time to market is paramount, and this requires the implementation of fast software build and turnaround strategies which promote a fluid, rapid software development methodology which does not compromise software stability and reproducibility. Asidua’s ETI methodology has been designed with these requirements in mind and was recently successfully implemented for a major telecoms industry client.
Client: Major Telecoms Equipment Manufacturer
A major telecoms equipment manufacturer re-engaged Asidua following successful development and deployment of an SNMP Agent on the manufacturer’s ATM Switch Fabric card. The remit was to design and develop the software for a new card that would offer E1 TDM/ATM interworking and traffic consolidation. The card would allow telecom network operators to make more efficient use of their core network bandwidth using a Circuit Emulation Service (CES) to transport E1 TDM traffic.
Client: Fujitsu Telecommunications
The technical complexity of moving access networks into the 21st century and scope of developing a replacement network requires enormous investment of engineering resources in a coherent and effective manner. Fujitsu Telecommunications, a major telecoms equipment manufacturer, recognised Asidua as having this capability and expertise to deliver a cost effective and quality solution to meet aggressive time to market demands.
